King Goon

King Goon Presents: A Christmas Miracle
Live at Sin City, Swansea
Friday 18th December. Doors 7pm
Tickets £5 advance, £7 on the door

King Goon are a six-piece from various corners of South Wales who call themselves a punk rock band with a bad ska habit. That’s about right, although it undersells the folk, the bits of country and the noisy rock and roll they throw in as well. There’s a tenor sax and an electric bouzouki in the line-up, which tells you most of what you need to know.

Their second album, Oh My!, came out in April. The band packed themselves and their gear into three vehicles, drove out to Mwnci Studios in Pembrokeshire, and recorded the whole thing in five days and nights. It followed their 2022 debut Admit Nothing! Deny Everything! Lie! Lie! Lie! and gave us the singles Filthy Stinking Rich and A Glorious Day On The Welsh Riviera.

This is their Christmas show, and they’re bringing friends.

Support comes from Sold For Parts, the Swansea all-female punk four-piece who put out their debut single Eye Trap this year, and Hari Powell. There will also be some super special secret guests, which is all we’re allowed to say.

Cheap tickets, a week before Christmas, a band who’ve been making a racket around South Wales for years. Get your advance tickets now.
